David married his lovely wife, Lisa, over 44 years ago. They have one son, Alex, and 2 grandsons, Wyatt and Allister. He was born and raised in Axton, VA and currently resides in Martinsville, VA. He has been in ministry since 2002. He was called to ministry early on, but tried to deny it til the Walk of Emmaus in March 1998. " God used that tool to convince me of His love for me and I said yes to His call on my life." Mt Vernon UMC will be his third appointment. David loves to cook, fish, hike and spend time outdoors.
Stacy Nunley is the administrative assistant at Mt Vernon UMC. A local resident who has lived in Kentucky and North Carolina before returning to her hometown. She is a widow with 7 children ranging from 17-26. For many years she was the wife of a minister. Now she serves as an administrative assistant for two churches, with the other being St Luke's UMC. Hobbies include anything hockey related and loving on her animals when she is not with her children or serving at the local theatre, Smokestacks.
My Name is Toni Stewart, and I have been happily married for almost 28 years. I am the proud mother of two children- my son works with UVA and my daughter serves as the General Manager of a local food establishment.
I have been a part of the Mt Vernon Children's House family since February 2016 and have had the privelage of working in each classroom alongside some truly amazing early childhood educators, before stepping into the role of assistant director in August 2025. I have a deep love and deciation for our center, the families we serve, and our community.

I have been working with children of various ages since 2011. My passion for early childhood education began in a montessori classroom, where I discovered the joy of nurturing children's curiosity, independenca and love for learning. In 2013, I earned my international Montessori teaching certificate.
I satrted Children's House in 2022. I truly believe that every child deserves a loving, safe, and engaging environment.
