Mount Vernon offers a Sunday school class for people from ages 2 to 102! If you and your children are not involved in a class, drop in on a class or two and give it a try. You'll find extraordinary teachers and discussion leaders, inspiring lessons, and friendly folks. Not only does small-group study help strengthen your relationship with God, but it builds and strengthens relationships among group members.
All classes meet from 9:45 until 10:45 a.m. unless otherwise noted. A nursery is provided for children younger than 4.
Top-Quality Nursery – Trained adult nursery workers care for the youngest members of the Mount Vernon family on Sunday mornings. The nursery is also offered on Wednesday evenings for the fellowship supper at 5:45 p.m. and programs at 6:30 p.m., and for other church services, rehearsals, and events, as needed.
2, 3, and 4 Year Olds – Our preschoolers hear simple Bible stories, enjoy learning activities, sing, and play together. Meets in Room E-126. Leader: Joyce Underwood

Youth - Age 6th Grade through 12th Grade – Our youth Sunday school class hears stories of our Christian faith and responds with discussion and creative activities. Meets in Room E220, second floor of the education building.
CLASSES FOR ADULTS
"Boomers" Class – On December 3, the Rev. Dr. Kelly Hawkins presents excerpts from college lectures on Women in the Bible. Leaders: Gary Benefield, Larry Oldham. Meets in room 208 (2nd floor, above the sacristy and parlor), 9:45 - 10:30 a.m. "Baby boomers" (those born between 1946 and 1964, approximately)
C.S.I. - Central (Christians Seeking Instruction)
Landis Class – The Landis Class uses lecture series from The Teaching Company, which are created by professors at major universities across the country. The current series is taught by Dr. Bart Ehrman, Chairman, Department of Religious Studies, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Following the televised lecture, the class discusses the material.
Fellowship Class – This class follows the widely used International Sunday School Lessons using the New International Version Bible, with the suggested study guides in both the Serendipity Bible and the Standard Lesson Commentary.
