The Rev. Jae W. Cho became Mount Vernon’s pastor in June, 2019. Jae came from the Korean Community Presbyterian Church in Duluth, Georgia (northeast Atlanta), where he served for 12 years. His specialty has been Christian Education but he feels much joy, he says, when he preaches and teaches the Word of God. Jae and his family moved from Korea to Alabama when he was 17. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama and Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta. His wife, Juliet, is a music therapist and accomplished pianist. Jae and Juliet have a five-year-old daughter and a three-year- old son.



Beth Bauman,
director of ministries to children and youth, has a degree in Christian Education from Emory and Henry College and worked with children and youth at churches in Farmville and Birmingham, Ala., before moving to Danville. She and her husband have a daughter who works in Africa (Zambia) for UNICEF, and a son who lives in Birmingham, Alabama.

Juliet Cho, director of music ministry since October 2019, has a B.A. in Composition Theory, a master’s degree in Music Therapy, and is working on a master’s degree in Music Education. She has extensive experience as a music therapist, piano accompanist, piano instructor, and was most recently the accompanist for McEver United Methodist Church in Oakwood, Georgia.
